Course objective and syllabus


AutoCAD Level 1+2+3 (Basic+2D+3D) 

Course is designed as par international standard to meet with international standard skilled CAD Professional.

Duration: Three months

Time : 1.5 hrs + Practice daily

Objective of course

After completing this course, the student will be able to do the following

v  Draw and modify objects using the geometry calculator.

v  Construct and edit polylines, multilines, and splines.

v   Insert and update fields.

v   Insert and edit tables.

v  Fully dimension 2D geometry.

v  Create and use dimension styles.

v  Create and edit hatched section views and pattern fills.

v  Assign, edit, and extract block attribute values.

v  Incorporate externally referenced data into drawings.

v  Create, modify, and archive sheet sets.

v  Extract two-dimensional views from a three-dimensional model for detail drafting.

v  Create and edit simple 2D regions and 3D solid models.

v  Use a variety of 3D display techniques.

v  Create 3D surface models using a variety of techniques.

v   Identify the various types of surface meshes and applications for each.

v  Generate 3D text and dimensions.

v  Render a 3D model with a variety of lights and materials.

Creating Views, Assembly and Multiple Model Drawings, Modifying Views Assembly and Multiple Manipulating Detail, Drawing Standards. Drawing Tables, Cosmetic Features 2D Drafting, Symbols, Using Layers to Control Drawing Display Drawing Formats, Isometric, 3D drafting.

Course Content

v  Introduction to the course and hardware - Overview of AutoCAD Release – Overview of a PC, peripherals e.g. printers and plotters, system settings and the Windows environment

v  Starting a New Drawing/Opening an existing drawing - Setting up a drawing starting from scratch, using a Wizard, using and creating a template file - Opening an existing drawing - Screen layout, pull-down menus, screen icons, command line and dialogue boxes, status bar toggles - Setting preferences

v  Drawing Commands - Lines, multi lines and poly lines - Arc, circle and ellipse - Co-ordinate input methods (directive, absolute, relative and polar) - Hatching - Dimensions - Text (multi-line & single line / true type fonts

v  Edit Commands - Erase, trim, extend, break and explode - Copy, offset, array, fillet and chamfer - Move, stretch, rotate and mirror

v  View Commands - Zoom, pan, redraw and regen (real time options) - Hide, shade and viewpoint

v  Drawing Settings and Aids – O snap settings, grid and snap - World UCS and User-defined UCS - Text styles and dimension styles (importing & exporting) - Drawing limits and units - Layers - Modify and match properties - Blocks and W blocks - Attributes – Paper space, layout space, tile mode and viewports (layer) - AutoCAD Bonus Tools - In-Place editing of XREFs.

v  Assist Commands - Cancel, undo and redo - Help

v  Saving and Plotting - Pen assignments and printer setup - Rotation, scale and preview - Saving and opening files - Using Windows Explorer whilst in AutoCAD Certificate

 At the end of the course, following satisfactory completion of the above, you will be presented with a certificate. And also you will be guide for Creating a Bill of Materials, Family Tables, Working with Large Drawing, plotting Markup mode.
